Torbaaz
Afghanistan is a wounded land that bears many scars – burned out skeletons of tanks, ruins of homes destroyed by rockets or bombs and the pock marks where walls have been hit by bullets. There are scars on the minds and hearts of the Afghan people from years of warfare. Torbaaz is a story about one man’s attempts to give hope to a group of Afghani children living in the refugee camps of Kabul through the game of cricket.

Having won the National Award for Visual effects, Girish Malik’s Jal has added yet another feather in its cap. The movie which stars Purab H Kohli, Kirti Kulhari, Tannishtha Chatterjee has been shortlisted in the list of 114 scores from eligible feature-length motion pictures released in 2014 which are in contention for nominations in the Original Score category. The background score for the film is given by Sonu Nigam and Bikram Ghosh, the film marked the official debut of the duo as music directors. The film has also been shortlisted in the list of feature films which are in contention for nominations in the Best Film category.
Sonu Nigam and Bickram Ghosh have bagged a spot in the race for Oscars .
The upcoming Hindi movie Jal has been selected as a nominee in the category of Best Original Score.
Jal is the first time the duo came together to compose for a film, and undderstandably, receiving such appreciation for their first film collaboration has left both of them overjoyed! 7000 movies from across the globe were submitted for nominations and only 114 have been selected — amongst it are three film, whose music has been scored by AR Rehman and Kochaidaiyaan.
